3 PAID AND 3 FREE THINGS THAT YOU MUST DO AT YOUR WEDDING…

Weddings are considered to be one of the most important (and expensive) days of your life. You can DIY all you’d like, to add that personal touch to your wedding, and you can do it to save a few bucks as well. However, there are some things that you really shouldn’t settle on. Not to worry, there are some free things you can do to make your wedding memorable as well.

I’ve been in the wedding business for quite some time now and have seen my fair share of weddings. Personally, I myself was married just over a year ago. Through some observation as well as first hand experience, here are some must have or do’s for your wedding day.

First up in this two part series…

Expenses that take your wedding from average to AMAZING!

1) A VENUE WORTH ITS SALT!

Okay let’s face it, anyone who has had a wedding or is planning a wedding faced these questions from the start.

How much is the venue?

What is the venue capacity?

You may think to yourself, saving some money on the venue costs can be worth risking appearance. Maybe your initial guest list is too large for the size of the venue.

Remember, what your venue looks like is such a huge part of your wedding day, both in personal appearance as well as the appearance in photo and video. Sometimes, transforming a venue that isn’t truly to your liking may end up costing you more, think: pipe and drape, lighting, etc. In the end, do yourself a favor, get the venue you and your wedding deserve, even if it means only inviting the people you actually know and not people who you haven’t seen or spoken to in over 10 years.

2) MAKE YOUR ENTRANCE MEMORABLE AND YOUR NIGHT “NON-STOP”!

This is more important than some people think. What could be more embarrassing than a master of ceremonies who fumbles over their words, or worse, pronounces the bride and grooms name wrong. Believe me, the name Coelho has been butchered for years and I wanted to be sure our Master of Ceremonies got it right! A good Master of Ceremonies takes a bit of time to understand the bride and groom, gauge the crowd, and get everyone pumped for the most important people of the night, the bride and groom.

Now to what keeps the people partying and on their feet, the entertainment. Be it a live band or even a DJ, your entertainment is crucial. It’s the difference between people leaving right after dinner or staying until they are forced to leave. Unless you cannot wait for them to actually go home, get entertainment that will engage the crowd and keep them partying all night long.

3) CAPTURE YOUR DAY TO THE FULLEST!

Although a given, this is probably our favorite of all, naturally J. Think about it, you spent a VERY long time planning this day, in the blink of an eye its done. Your photos are on display; they are on the wall in your home or in your favorite frame on your nightstand. Let’s face it, when you look at your photos you begin to recall what you were doing at that exact moment. A good photographer will capture your wedding in a beautiful way, but the right photographer will have you talking about your photos for years to come.

Video has always been here, but with new technology and storytelling techniques, it is officially here to stay. You want to relive your wedding in motion, some things you just simply didn’t catch. An amazing video team will not only tell your story through the eyes of the overly observant guest, but have you on the edge of your seat waiting for more. Some guests simply couldn’t be present; this is now your chance to show the world an amazing overview of your wedding day via social media and most importantly, have something captured digitally that will be “A memory that lasts a lifetime”.

Stay tuned for part two next week, 3 free things you must do at your wedding!
